Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Vietnamese counterpart Bui Thanh Son affirmed their commitment to maintaining peace and stability at sea during a meeting in Hanoi. Wang proposed active promotion of mutually beneficial cooperation, preventing external involvement, expediting South China Sea Code of Conduct consultations, and fostering a peaceful and cooperative South China Sea. Highlighting the shared ideals and beliefs between China and Vietnam, Wang urged defining new goals for their relationship to contribute to global peace and progress. Both ministers emphasized enhanced cooperation across various fields and mutual support in international affairs to uphold equity and justice.
