China urges France to help develop China-EU ties as Wang Yi meets Macron

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, during talks with French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris, expressed China’s hope for France to continue playing a constructive role in the healthy and stable development of China-EU relations. Wang emphasized the significance of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and France, urging the two nations to collaborate in charting the course for the next 60 years of bilateral ties. He assured that China will maintain an open market and encouraged France to create a fair business environment for Chinese enterprises. Against the backdrop of global challenges, Wang stressed the importance of strategic coordination between China and France, both being independent major countries and UN Security Council permanent members, to contribute to global peace and stability. Macron expressed willingness to collaborate with China in high-level exchanges and affirmed France’s commitment to the one-China policy, expressing readiness to strengthen strategic coordination for global peace and stability.
