Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng met with U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, holding candid and constructive discussions on issues such as U.S. Section 301 tariffs, export controls, agricultural trade, fentanyl-related cooperation, and tariff suspensions.
Both sides agreed to finalize details through their domestic approval processes and emphasized that stable China-U.S. trade relations benefit both countries and the world.
He Lifeng called for mutual respect, dialogue, and cooperation to manage differences and strengthen trust, while the U.S. side expressed willingness to work with China on the basis of equality and respect.
They agreed to continue using bilateral consultation mechanisms to maintain communication and promote the healthy, stable, and sustainable development of their trade relationship.
