China and the United States held talks on arms control and non-proliferation in Washington. The discussions covered various topics including nuclear weapons treaties, cooperation among nuclear-weapon states, nuclear security, non-proliferation, and more. Both sides emphasized the importance of ongoing communication to enhance trust, find common ground, and manage differences. China highlighted the need for dialogue and cooperation based on mutual respect, and stressed the importance of a comprehensive and cooperative security approach. These talks followed meetings between Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken in late October.
