The Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games in Japan ended on Sunday after 16 days of competition. China topped the medal table for the 12th straight Asian Games, winning 169 gold, 89 silver and 83 bronze medals. Japan finished second with 83 gold medals, while South Korea came third with 39. China performed especially well in swimming, winning 30 gold medals. Chinese swimmer Zhang Zhanshuo made history by winning seven gold medals, while 13-year-old Yu Zidi won three golds and set an Asian record. Yu was also named the women’s Most Valuable Player of the Games.
