China will continue to deliver stable, high-quality growth and provide greater certainty to the global economy, a senior official said Sunday.
Han Wenxiu, executive deputy director of the Office of the Central Committee for Financial and Economic Affairs, speaking at the China Development Forum 2026 in Beijing, said the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030) aims to create new opportunities for the world. China will deepen reform, expand high-standard opening-up, and broaden market access, particularly in services, telecommunications, healthcare, and education.
Han emphasized that China does not pursue a trade surplus and has historically run a services trade deficit. China has also expanded imports of high-quality products and granted zero-tariff treatment for all least developed countries with diplomatic relations. He added that China’s stable development environment makes it a safe haven for international capital.
The forum, held March 22–23, focuses on advancing high-quality development and fostering global cooperation.
