China will host the 2026 Forum on Global Human Rights Governance in Beijing from June 11 to 12, bringing together more than 400 participants from nearly 100 countries and international organizations, including the United Nations.
According to Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian, the forum will focus on the theme of promoting human rights through development and coincides with the 40th anniversary of the UN Declaration on the Right to Development. China said it hopes the event will encourage dialogue, build consensus, and contribute to a fairer, more equitable, and inclusive global human rights governance system.
