China plans to increase the share of electricity generated from non-fossil energy sources to 50% by 2030 under a new power sector development plan for 2026-2030. The plan focuses on expanding renewable energy, strengthening power grids, supporting electric vehicle infrastructure, and improving energy security. China also aims to build a cleaner energy system while reducing reliance on coal as part of its goal to peak carbon emissions before 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality before 2060.
