China and Switzerland have completed a joint feasibility study to upgrade their Free Trade Agreement (FTA) and are set to begin formal FTA upgrade negotiations. The announcement was made during talks between Chinese Premier Li Qiang and Swiss Confederation President Viola Amherd. Both countries plan to engage in strategic dialogues and meetings on various topics, including finance, energy, education policy, and UN Security Council affairs. Premier Li emphasized the importance of political trust and cooperation in areas like free trade, green economy, finance, and digital economy. Switzerland expressed willingness to deepen bilateral dialogues and cooperate on global challenges. The nations also announced measures to facilitate visa policies and plan to strengthen people-to-people exchanges in the 75th anniversary year of diplomatic ties.
