COP30 in Belém, Brazil ended with a difficult but important new global climate agreement called the “Global Mutirao.” Despite geopolitical tensions, countries showed strong political will to cooperate.
China’s delegation, led by Li Gao, was active across nearly 100 agenda items, contributed solutions and held many bilateral talks. The China Pavilion was one of the busiest, supporting exchanges and negotiations.
Li said the conference reinforced that the global shift to green, low-carbon development is irreversible and that multilateral cooperation remains essential. COP30 also marked progress in moving the Paris Agreement into its next decade.
