China rejects Trump claim on wind power, cites world-leading installed capacity

China’s Foreign Ministry on Thursday dismissed U.S. President Donald Trump’s remarks questioning China’s use of wind power. The ministry said China has the world’s largest wind power capacity and has made major contributions to global renewable energy development.
Spokesperson Guo Jiakun said China leads the world in installed wind power, with more than 600 gigawatts in operation by late 2025, and has topped global rankings for 15 straight years. He added that China’s renewable energy exports have helped other countries cut billions of tonnes of carbon emissions.
Guo said China remains committed to working with other nations to promote global green and low-carbon development.
