China and New Zealand have agreed to advance negotiations on a negative list for trade in services under their Free Trade Agreement, according to China’s Ministry of Commerce.
The two sides also pledged to strengthen coordination within multilateral frameworks such as APEC and the WTO and to support a rules-based global trading system. The agreement was discussed during the 34th China-New Zealand Joint Trade and Economic Commission meeting held in Beijing on June 5, where officials reviewed bilateral economic ties and broader regional cooperation. China said it will continue working with New Zealand to deepen trade and economic cooperation under existing mechanisms and promote further development of their comprehensive strategic partnership.
