China launched the Shiyan-29 test satellite on Friday from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in Sichuan. The satellite lifted off at 10:34 a.m. aboard a Long March-3C rocket with a Yuanzheng-1 upper stage and successfully entered its preset orbit.
Shiyan-29 will be used for space environment exploration and technology testing. The launch marked the 592nd mission of the Long March rocket series.
