China launches new low Earth orbit satellites

China launched a new batch of low Earth orbit satellites from its commercial launch site in Hainan. A Long March-8A rocket carried the 10th group of satellites for an internet constellation, successfully placing them into orbit at 3:08 a.m on August 25, 2025.
Developed by the China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology, the 50.5-meter-tall rocket can lift up to 7 tonnes into a 700-kilometer sun-synchronous orbit. This was the Long March-8A’s third mission of the year, showcasing its ability to handle high-frequency launches and large-scale constellation deployments.
