China has issued new guidelines to promote child-friendly development and better protect minors’ rights, according to the National Development and Reform Commission.
Jointly released with the State Council’s children and women affairs office, the plan expands child-friendly policies nationwide, improving public services and offering more free or discounted access for children in education, healthcare, transport, sports and recreation.
The guidelines also emphasize stronger child safety protections through coordinated efforts by families, schools, society and authorities, along with better risk prevention. Authorities will enhance policy coordination and support local governments in integrating funding and projects to improve child-related services.
