China hopes the Philippines will meet it halfway as soon as possible to find an effective way to manage the maritime situation in the South China Sea, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Friday, after the recent Ren’ai Jiao dispute between the two countries.
China has repeatedly stated that it is willing to properly handle existing differences with the Philippines through bilateral dialogue, Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said during his visit to Singapore and Malaysia.
