Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi spoke at the BRICS Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Rio de Janeiro, calling for unity and stronger cooperation among BRICS countries. He made four key suggestions: support fair trade by upholding WTO rules and opposing protectionism; reform global financial systems like the World Bank and IMF to give developing countries more influence; promote green development by fully implementing the Paris Agreement and boosting low-carbon cooperation; and share digital opportunities by closing the digital divide and improving global rules for AI. Wang also showed strong support for Brazil’s role in leading the upcoming COP30 climate conference.
