Chinese President Xi Jinping’s special representative, Liu Guozhong, attended the 19th Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Summit in Kampala, Uganda. During the summit, Liu emphasized the NAM’s crucial role in promoting global peace and human progress. He highlighted the movement’s historical contributions and called for continued commitment to independence, opposition to power politics, and the promotion of peaceful coexistence.
Liu expressed China’s dedication to being a member of the developing world, pledging collaboration with NAM countries to implement initiatives like the Global Development Initiative, Global Security Initiative, and Global Civilization Initiative. China also affirmed its readiness to advance Belt and Road cooperation, uphold common human values, and advocate for a multipolar world and inclusive economic globalization.
