Chinese Premier Li Qiang, speaking at the China-EU Business Leaders Symposium in Beijing, called for stronger trade and investment ties between China and the European Union to boost economic resilience and tackle global uncertainties. He urged cooperation in areas like services, innovation, the green economy, and joint research, while reaffirming China’s commitment to opening up and protecting fair competition.
Li welcomed more European investment in China and asked the EU to ensure fair treatment for Chinese businesses in Europe. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, also at the event, praised China’s innovation and said the EU is committed to deepening its partnership with China. She emphasized that the EU does not intend to decouple from China and welcomes Chinese investment.
