China’s Ministry of Commerce said China and the EU have made progress in consultations over the EU’s anti-subsidy case involving Chinese electric vehicles, following several rounds of talks based on mutual respect. Both sides agreed on the need for general guidance on price undertakings for Chinese EV exporters, allowing companies to address concerns in a practical way while complying with WTO rules. The EU will soon issue formal guidance on submitting such applications, reaffirming its commitment to non-discrimination and fair, objective assessments. China said the talks reflect positive bilateral cooperation and show that both sides are willing to resolve disputes through dialogue under the WTO framework, which is important for maintaining stable automotive supply chains and supporting a rules-based global trading system.
