China’s Commerce Minister Wang Wentao and EU Trade Commissioner Maroš Šefčovič met in Paris on June 3 to discuss trade disputes, including the EU’s anti-subsidy case on Chinese electric vehicles and China’s anti-dumping probe on EU brandy. They made progress on EV price talks, with negotiations nearing completion, and reviewed French price commitments on brandy, expecting a ruling by early July. Both sides agreed to resolve issues through dialogue within WTO rules. Wang also clarified China’s export controls, promising faster approvals for eligible exports and urging the EU to support smooth high-tech trade.
