China delivers fourth batch of emergency aid to Nepal while bolstering risk-warning network

China has sent a fourth batch of emergency supplies to Nepal following the deadly glacier disaster on August 26. The aid includes rescue boats, flood-control pumps, batteries, medical equipment and solar lights, while Chinese organizations are also providing shelters, food and medical support. The disaster has killed more than 1,300 people in Nepal, with thousands still missing, while 43 people have died and more than 500 remain missing on the Chinese side of the border. China is also strengthening its disaster-warning system in the affected area, with hundreds of experts and monitoring equipment watching for landslides, flooding and other risks. Meanwhile, hundreds of evacuated residents in Gyirong have safely returned home after a dangerous barrier lake was drained and the immediate threat was reduced. Credit : CGTN
