The China Cotton Association (CCA) has opposed the United States’ decision to add 43 Chinese companies, including cotton textile firms, to the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act Entity List.
The association said the allegations of forced labor lack factual and legal basis, stating that China’s cotton industry follows modern, automated production methods and that workers’ rights are protected under Chinese law.
The CCA accused the U.S. move of politicizing human rights issues, saying it could disrupt global cotton supply chains and harm Chinese companies. It said China’s cotton industry remains confident in overcoming external challenges.
