China congratulated Sushila Karki on her appointment as prime minister of Nepal’s interim government, a foreign ministry spokesperson said Sunday. Karki, Nepal’s former chief justice, assumed office Friday following KP Sharma Oli’s resignation. China emphasized its respect for Nepal’s independent development path and expressed readiness to work with the new government to promote peaceful coexistence, strengthen cooperation, and further bilateral relations.
