On May 4, 2025, Team Spirit from Eastern Europe and Central Asia won the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) grand finals in Guangzhou, China, defeating China’s DFYG with a 4–0 sweep. The event, hosted by MOONTON Games, not only showcased high-level esports competition but also highlighted growing cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC).
MOONTON’s Chu Tong emphasized that the tournament strengthened China’s global esports presence and promoted cultural exchange through gaming. It also demonstrated China’s policy-backed push to internationalize its esports industry, supported by initiatives from cities like Shanghai, Chengdu, and Shenzhen.
