A new CGTN survey found that international interest in “China Travel” continues to grow, with 92.9 percent of respondents saying the trend reflects rising global curiosity about the country. Historical sites such as the Great Wall and the Forbidden City were the most popular attractions, followed by natural scenery, cultural experiences and modern city life. Traditional Chinese cuisine and Chinese technology products also ranked highly among travelers’ interests.
Official data showed that China recorded 22.9 million visits by foreign travelers during the first half of the year, a 20.4 percent increase from a year earlier. The survey also found that social media content, visa-free entry policies, mobile payment systems and convenient transportation services have encouraged more people to visit China and learn more about its culture and society.
