The European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) is marking its 70th anniversary with a series of events aimed at engaging younger generations and promoting accessibility to science. CERN, home to the Large Hadron Collider, the world’s most powerful particle accelerator, seeks to inspire people, especially the youth, and foster new talents in the fields of physics, computing, and engineering. Under the theme “CERN at 70: Inspiring the Future,” six public events are planned, culminating in a closing ceremony on October 1. CERN Director-General Fabiola Gianotti emphasized the organization’s commitment to increasing science participation in society.
