According to Cameroon’s Ministry of Finance, the country is stepping up efforts to recover millions of dollars in unpaid taxes from the gold mining sector, aiming to improve tax collection and increase government revenue.
Officials say stronger monitoring and enforcement will target companies that have failed to pay taxes and royalties. The move is part of Cameroon’s broader effort to improve transparency in the mining industry and ensure the country’s natural resources generate greater economic benefits.
