European leaders from Britain, France, Germany and Italy have welcomed a US-Iran peace agreement announced on Sunday, calling it a potential turning point for regional stability and the global economy.
In a joint statement reported by the BBC, they said Iran must never obtain a nuclear weapon but indicated readiness to lift sanctions if Tehran takes verifiable steps on its nuclear program. The leaders also urged rapid implementation of the deal and stressed the importance of reopening the Strait of Hormuz with free navigation, while pledging continued coordination with the US and regional partners to secure a lasting diplomatic settlement.
