Chinese company Kylinsoft has launched its first homegrown Kylin operating system for PCs integrated with AI, named the AIPC version. Unveiled at the 2024 China Operating System Industry Conference in Beijing, this OS features advanced edge-side inference capabilities, enabling complex AI tasks to be processed locally rather than relying on cloud resources. This enhancement improves data processing speed, security, and overall user interaction with computers.
The AIPC operating system supports various applications, including autonomous driving, healthcare, and education. It allows real-time data processing for self-driving cars, medical image analysis, and personalized learning resources. This development signifies a significant step in China’s operating system industry, which has traditionally lagged behind global counterparts. China’s operating system market grew substantially in 2023, driven by digital transformation and the expanding AI sector.
