He urged Trump to join him in pushing Congress to pass the bipartisan security bill. Trump, speaking at the Rio Grande, labeled the situation a “Biden invasion” and pledged to reinstate policies from his term, including the “Remain in Mexico” plan. The border issue has become a central focus ahead of the November elections. A federal judge in Texas blocked the state’s new law granting broad powers to officials to address illegal border crossings. Texas Governor Greg Abbott has deployed resources through Operation Lone Star to deter illegal immigration.
