Biden announces $325 million military aid package during a White House meeting with Zelenskyy

During a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, U.S President Joe Biden announced that the U.S. will provide Ukraine with an additional $325 million in military aid to support its counteroffensive against Russian forces. The meeting aimed to bolster U.S. support for Ukraine in the ongoing conflict that began in February 2022. Despite opposition from some Republican lawmakers, Biden assured Zelenskyy of continued strong U.S. support. Zelenskyy expressed gratitude for the military aid package, including weaponry and air defenses, and mentioned plans to expand grain exports. Biden’s request for $24 million in additional funding faces obstacles in the U.S. Congress. The U.S. will also deliver Abrams tanks to Ukraine, and there is a commitment to help Ukraine recover and combat corruption.
