Bhotekoshi flood: Air rescue of 336 people, including 45 foreigners from six countries

Kathmandu, Aug 27: Three hundred and thirty-six people affected by the flood in the Bhotekoshi River of Rasuwa have been airlifted. According to Nepali Army spokesperson Rajaram Basnet, in coordination with about 4,000 Nepali Army personnel, efforts are on to search and rescue the injured, provide emergency treatment, and distribute relief. These many people along with 45 foreigners from six countries have been rescued since this morning from Timure, Dhunche, and the Mailung area in Rasuwa.

Floodwaters in the Trishuli River, which flows along the border of Tanahun and Chitwan districts, carried debris downstream on Wednesday following the flooding in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa. Locals collect the materials washed away by the flood. Despite the administration’s warning against going near the river, locals took the risk to collect the materials as the water level receded.
