Beijing will launch the world’s first “4S store” for embodied AI robots during the 2025 World Robot Conference (August 8–12) in Yizhuang, a major robotics hub in southern Beijing. Modeled after traditional auto 4S stores (sales, service, spare parts, surveys), the store will offer robot sales, maintenance, parts supply, and customer services. It will also include demo areas for real-world interaction with robots.
Over 100 robotics-related companies, including 30 focused on humanoid robots, have shown interest in joining. Ten major firms, such as UBTECH and the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, have already signed on.
This move is part of Yizhuang’s effort to strengthen its position as a global robotics center. The area hosts over 300 robotics companies, contributes half of Beijing’s robotics industry output, and earlier hosted the world’s first humanoid robot half-marathon—won by Tiangong Ultra with a time of 2:40:42.
