Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng met with Jay Shambaugh, U.S. Under Secretary for International Affairs, in Beijing. He emphasized the importance of following the consensus reached between the Chinese and U.S. presidents, maintaining economic communication, and coordinating macroeconomic policies based on mutual respect. Shambaugh, attending the fifth China-U.S. economic working group meeting, expressed the U.S.’s willingness to maintain communication and develop healthy economic relations with China.
