Apple is reportedly developing its own chip for AI software in data centers, aiming to catch up with competitors in AI technology. Codenamed Project ACDC, the initiative utilizes Apple’s chip design expertise. While the project has been ongoing for several years, it’s unclear when or if it will be unveiled. The chip is expected to focus on running AI models, rather than training them, and Apple is collaborating with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co on its design and production.
