With about 30 days remaining before the 2026 APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting, Shenzhen, China, is stepping up preparations for the November 18 and 19 event. The city plans to add more than 50 bus routes connecting with metro stations, increase bus services by 20 percent and encourage flexible working hours to reduce traffic congestion.
Since February, APEC member economies have held meetings across China to discuss trade, supply chain resilience, artificial intelligence and digital development. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has highlighted openness, innovation and cooperation as key priorities. The upcoming meetings will focus on turning these goals into practical agreements while addressing differences among the 21 member economies.
