China has launched its National Anti-Cancer Week, aiming to enhance awareness and knowledge about cancer. The country aims to increase the five-year survival rate for cancer patients to 46.6% by 2030, with a current rate of 43.7% as of 2022. The National Cancer Center reports a yearly decrease of 1.3% in cancer-related mortality from 2000 to 2018. In 2022, China recorded 4.82 million new cancer cases, with lung, colorectal, thyroid, liver, and gastric cancers being the most common. Experts emphasize lifestyle changes and early detection through screenings as crucial for cancer prevention and treatment.
