Amazon announced Tuesday it will cut about 14,000 corporate jobs as part of efforts to streamline operations and boost investment in artificial intelligence (AI). This is the company’s second-largest layoff, following 22,000 job cuts in 2022. In a memo, senior VP Beth Galetti said the move aims to strengthen the company by reallocating resources to its “biggest bets,” while CEO Andy Jassy noted that AI tools are reducing the need for some roles but creating demand for others.
