Air China on Monday released a preliminary judgment regarding the incident involving flight CA403, which it said was caused by engine mechanical failure, with further investigation currently underway.
Air China flight CA403 from Chengdu to Singapore safely landed at the Changi Airport in Singapore at 4:14 p.m. on Sunday after encountering smoke in the forward cargo hold and lavatory, with nine crew members and 146 passengers evacuated safely, Air China said in a statement on Sunday.
