Foreign ambassadors say AI applications are becoming vital tools for international students in China, helping them adapt to studies and daily life while fostering cultural exchange.
Bolivian Ambassador Hugo Siles described platforms like DeepSeek and Quark as indispensable for academic writing and real-time translation, calling them widely accessible and often free. Former Egyptian Ambassador Mahmoud Allam highlighted China’s leading role in AI, noting Quark’s features such as simultaneous interpretation, language processing, and even health consultations.
Venezuelan Ambassador Remigio Ceballos contrasted Chinese and Western AI, arguing that Chinese apps are designed for the general public with practical uses in education, daily life, and healthcare, reflecting a people-centered approach.
Alongside these AI platforms, international students also rely on popular Chinese apps such as Alipay, Weixin, and Xiaohongshu for payments, social networking, and lifestyle information.
