The World Health Organization (WHO) delivered its first medical shipment into Gaza since March 2, calling it “a drop in the ocean” compared to the urgent needs. The June 25 delivery included nine trucks with essential supplies, 2,000 units of blood, and 1,500 units of plasma, safely transported via the Kerem Shalom crossing. The aid will be distributed to priority hospitals like Nasser Medical Complex amid critical shortages and rising injuries, many from food distribution sites.
WHO stressed the need for much larger, sustained aid. Meanwhile, the UN OCHA reported serious health outbreaks in Gaza, including over 19,000 cases of acute watery diarrhea in just two weeks, due to a lack of clean water and sanitation. OCHA urged for increased humanitarian and commercial aid through multiple crossings to prevent further collapse of Gaza’s health system.
