Heavy rains and lightning wreaked havoc in Pakistan, leading to 71 deaths and injuring 67 others. The worst-hit region was the northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, where 32 people lost their lives, including children and women, and 41 others were injured. In eastern Punjab province, 23 people died and seven were wounded, while southwest Balochistan province saw eight fatalities and eight injuries. Pakistan-controlled Kashmir reported eight deaths, 11 injuries, and significant property damage. The National Disaster Management Authority issued an advisory warning of more intense weather systems expected until April 29, posing risks of heavy rain, thunderstorms, and flash floods in vulnerable areas.
