Twenty-nine countries signed an agreement in Shanghai to establish the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization, a new international body focused on AI cooperation and global governance.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi signed the agreement on behalf of China. The organization aims to promote the safe, fair and beneficial development of artificial intelligence through international cooperation, with its headquarters based in Shanghai. Founding members include countries such as Kazakhstan, Laos, Pakistan, Russia and Indonesia, while UN representatives also attended the ceremony.
