The forum highlighted the enduring role of traditional martial arts as a primary pillar for strengthening bilateral ties and enhancing people-to-people diplomacy.
The event featured a series of keynote addresses from prominent figures, led by Counselor Li Qianguo of the Chinese Embassy to Myanmar and the Chairman of the Myanmar Wushu Federation. Discussions led by speakers from the Myanmar Writers Association, the Myanmar Institute of Strategic and International Studies (MISIS), and the China-Myanmar Economic Cooperation and Development Promotion Association explored how shared cultural heritage can foster deeper mutual understanding between the two nations.
In addition to strategic policy discussions, the symposium celebrated the physical artistry of the craft. Attendees viewed a promotional film for International Tai Chi Day and witnessed live demonstrations from elite coaches representing the Henan Shaolin Zen Medical Kung Fu Academy and several international education centers. The performances featured a mastery of Yi Jin Jing, Baji Quan, and foundational Wushu routines.
The symposium was jointly organized by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to Myanmar, the Myanmar Wushu Federation, and China Media Group (CMG). Additional support was provided by the China Cultural Center in Yangon and the Myanmar Bowen School.
