The 2025 Silk Road TV Community Summit opened Sunday in Yangjiang, Guangdong, gathering nearly 300 media, academic and industry representatives from 20 countries. Speakers highlighted the Belt and Road Initiative’s growing focus on people-to-people ties and called for deeper international media cooperation amid global uncertainties.
Broadcasting leaders praised the summit as a platform for shaping future media collaboration. The event released the “Yangjiang Initiative,” urging tech-driven media partnerships and stronger storytelling of the Maritime Silk Road. Several joint projects were launched, including co-productions and multilingual program exchanges. Founded in 2016, the community now includes 149 members from 64 countries.
