China plans to increase support for emerging industries, including semiconductors, aerospace, biotechnology, energy storage and robotics, as part of its 15th Five-Year Plan for 2026 to 2030. The National Development and Reform Commission said the output value of these industries is expected to exceed 10 trillion yuan by 2030, nearly doubling from last year. The government will provide greater financial support, encourage technological innovation and expand the use of artificial intelligence across industries such as manufacturing, transportation, healthcare and emergency response.
China also plans to develop future technologies, including quantum technology, hydrogen energy, nuclear fusion and 6G, while strengthening international cooperation in AI. Meanwhile, the country’s marine economy is expected to grow, with its total output projected to exceed 13 trillion yuan by 2030.
