Exit polls in Bulgaria have projected incumbent President Iliana Iotova to win Sunday’s presidential runoff against former caretaker Prime Minister Andrey Gurov. Alpha Research estimated that Iotova would receive 52.5% of the vote, compared with 43.4% for Gurov, while another poll showed a similar result. Official results are expected by Wednesday. Under Bulgaria’s constitution, the candidate who receives the most votes wins the five-year presidential term. Iotova became president in January after her predecessor, Rumen Radev, resigned.
