An exhibition marking the 80th anniversary of the opening of the Tokyo Trial has opened at the United Nations headquarters in New York. Titled “Justice and Peace for All Humanity,” the exhibition features historical photographs, documents and publications about the investigation and prosecution of Japanese war crimes during World War II.
At the opening ceremony, China’s UN Ambassador Fu Cong said the trial played an important role in upholding international law and the post-war order. He urged Japan to confront its wartime history and warned against the resurgence of militarism. Other speakers also emphasized the importance of learning from history, remembering the suffering caused by war and protecting international peace. The exhibition was organized by China’s Permanent Mission to the UN during International Law Week.
