Russian President Vladimir Putin has agreed to resume US-mediated peace talks with Ukraine as early as next month, following a meeting with US envoy Steve Witkoff on Wednesday. The Kremlin said the technical-level talks could take place in Abu Dhabi from November 10 and would focus on security arrangements for both countries after the war. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also called for the negotiations to begin as soon as possible.
However, fighting continues. Russian ballistic missile strikes hit Kyiv on Wednesday evening, damaging infrastructure and public facilities and injuring six people, according to the city’s mayor. Meanwhile, European leaders will meet on November 26 and 27 to discuss funding for Ukraine’s estimated 70-billion-euro shortfall in 2027.
